Practical First Aid

Monday
2 hours a week - 10 weeks

This Practical First Aid Course will teach participants emergency life saving skills for Adult, child and baby.
It covers Unconsciousness, Checking the airway, Recovery Position, CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation), Choking, Shock, Bleeding, Burns, Fractures and Spinal Injuries.
It also gives you advice on how to treat people suffering from major illnesses such as Asthma, Epilepsy, Angina, Heart Attack and Anaphylactic Shock.

Part of the Practical First Aid Course includes continuous assessment therefore learners must attend all modules of this course to qualify.
On successful completion of the course learners will receive an A4 certificate in First Aid, which is valid for 3 years.

First Aid Emergency Life Support (ELS) For Child & Baby

This First Aid course is for Parents, Grandparents, Baby sitters, Classroom Assistants or anyone who has a general interest in learning First Aid skills.
During the course participants will learn about Unconsciousness, Checking the airway, Recovery Position, CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation), Choking, Shock, Burns, Bleeding, Cuts and Bruises, Poisoning and Infant Child Convulsions.

All course participants will receive an A4 certificate that is valid for 3 years

This First Aid Course can be for Carers, professionals eg: Keep Fit Instructors, Health and Beauty or just as a general interest in learning the basic First Aid skills.
The course covers Unconsciousness, Checking the airway, Recovery Position, CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation) Choking, Shock, Burns, Bleeding, Bandages and Anaphylactic Shock.

12- Hour Paediatric First Aid Course

This course is suitable for people working towards an NVQ in Child Care & Education and is mandatory for Child Care workers and Nurseries. It covers the full criteria of the National Standards Guidelines for under 8s day care. The  12-hour course will cover: Planning for emergencies, Unconsciousness, Recovery Position, CPR Adult, Child & Baby, Choking, Shock/Electric shock, Anaphylactic Shock, Bleeding/Bandages, Poisoning, Foreign Bodies, Eye Injuries, Fractures, Burns, Medical Conditions, Febrile Convulsions, Contents First Aid Box & Recording Incidents, Questions & Answers.

All course participants will receive an A4 certificate that is valid for 3 years.
